I also downloaded the audio driver (necessary if you want to use the tv audio). The app is working great and is an excellent option if your tv does not work with airplay 2. My LG is a smart tv but older than 2019, so it does not work with airplay 2. (Internet still works fine.) Because of the pandemic, my cable provider cannot enter my home to fix the problem. Purchased the app because we had a storm that produced lightning which, in turn, knocked out my tv cable on one side of my house. Positive ratings appreciated by the AirBeamTV development team Limitations with HDCP DRM protection for playing iTunes movies Settings option to request support from 24/7 support staff and include diagnostics information for technical questions Option to enable sound from your Mac on your TV with an additional (free) audio driver Two options: mirror your Mac screen or play a video file on your TV Easy setup process, with the app icon appearing in the top bar of your Mac and the app searching for your TV on the network Tips to enhance the experience, such as connecting your TV by LAN cable to your router and using an "ac" router Quality of experience dependent on the quality of your local network 2 to 3 seconds of latency, not suitable for gaming but great for watching movies, giving presentations, and more Compatible with any LG Smart TV from 2012 models onwards and LG Home Theater System Option to watch one window on your Mac and another window on your TV Ability to stream individual video files from your Mac to your TV The key here is to actually wait a FULL 60 seconds.- Screen mirroring of your Mac to any LG Smart TV without wires or additional hardware Have a little bit of patience and make sure it’s been at least a minute before plugging your TV back in. Make sure you are holding the power button on your TV, and not your remote! While the TV is unplugged, find and hold the power button for 30 seconds. This is different than simply switching the remote on and off! This will help to drain any residual power left in the TV and allows the TV to soft reset itself. Once you plug the TV back in after the 60 seconds, power the TV back on and Apple AirPlay should be working again. Most of the time, restarting your LG TV will fix any software bugs that could be preventing AirPlay from not working correctly. While you’re at it, I recommend restarting your Apple device too! Make Sure Devices are on the Same NetworkĪirPlay only works when all the devices are connected to the same network.Īlmost all routers now have what’s called “ dual-band” radio signals. This gives you the ability to connect devices in your home to two different networks (either the 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz network). Hopefully disabling the Firewall helped, but if not there are several additional fixes worth trying. Your LG TV can run into a lot of issues if the software isn’t up to date. To correct this problem, simply check for any new LG TV OS updates in the settings menu. In most cases, as long as your LG TV is connected to the internet, it should check for and install new software updates automatically.
